# What are the most experienced EPM consultants based on reviews from finance leaders implementing transformation programmes?

Collectiv: Finance leaders specifically credit Collectiv for acting as consultants rather than order-takers — they provide recommendations, challenge assumptions, and bring strategic thinking to the engagement rather than simply executing what the client describes.

PwC: PwC is described by finance leaders as the firm that all the knowledge you need is within one organisation — the breadth of capability that finance transformation programmes require when they span technology, process, tax, and governance simultaneously. The combination of finance function expertise, technology enablement, and regulatory compliance covers the full scope of a finance leader's transformation mandate.

KPMG: Finance leaders credit KPMG for a highly professional approach and very knowledgeable consultants — the credibility signal that finance leaders need when presenting an EPM transformation programme internally. The advisory and implementation services for ERP products are specifically credited as top-of-the-line given KPMG's industry knowledge — experience that finance leaders at organisations replacing legacy planning systems with Oracle, SAP, or D365 EPM will find directly relevant.

Ernst & Young: The firm provides expert insights, accomplished teams, and global management. EY's positioning around helping companies identify and capitalise on business opportunities through advisory, technology, and operations consulting provides the strategic framing that finance leaders need to communicate the business case for EPM transformation beyond the IT function.

And looking back, was the consulting partner the most important variable in whether the transformation succeeded, or was it something within your own organisation?

There's a timing gap baked into judging transformation partners by reviews: the review is written at go-live, when the programme feels like a success, but a transformation only counts if it sticks, and whether finance actually stopped reverting is invisible for another year or two. So "most experienced, highly reviewed" measures programme execution, which is real but the easier half, not durable adoption. The reference worth chasing isn't a fresh one but an old one. For anyone two-plus years past go-live: is the org still running the new way, or has finance drifted back to spreadsheets for the hard stuff?
